FIFA WC SERBIA TEAM: Another team that has surprised everyone with their performances in the recent past, Serbia has a real shot at making it to the Round of 16, looking at their group. With everyone expecting Brazil to top their group, the race to be the 2nd placed team is on and Switzerland and Serbia will be gunning to get the same.
FIFA WC SERBIA SQUAD: Serbia impressed everyone in their World Cup Qualifying group as they topped their group and even sent a team with the stature of Portugal to the knockout stage of the Qualifiers. They did not lose even a single game and gave their group mates a run for their money.
Luckily for Portugal, they won in the knockout games and booked their place, had they lost, Serbia would have been responsible for their non-involvement in Qatar this time.
They ended up scoring 18 goals but were not at their best in defense as they gave away 9. With the quality of opponents increasing at the World Cup, they will be looking to improve their defense.
SERBIA TEAM NEWS: Stojkovic likes to employ a 3-4-1-2 formation for Serbia and they have been playing well in this formation for a while. While they might have been known for their physical play in the past, they do have some technical players in their ranks now who can make a difference.
Tadic has been a key player for Ajax in a creative role and you will see him drifting left and right to make space and get decisive passes out. They are also a team who are good at set pieces with the players they have, as they are quite tall and dominating in the air.
Mitrović and Vlahović are a deadly duo in front of goal and they will be hoping to knock in whatever comes their way.
