Brian Lara, the West Indian batting legend scored the most runs on the losing side in a test match, 351 against Sri Lanka in 2001. Andy Flower, a former Zimbabwe batter, is ranked second after scoring 341 runs against South Africa in 2001. Herbert Sutcliffe, a former England batter who scored 303 runs against Australia in 1925, is in third place.
