Most runs in a series: Australia’s Steve Smith holds the record for most runs between India and Australia. In 2014-15, Steve Smith smashed India’s bowling and scored 769 runs at an average of 128.16 in 8 innings with the help of four tons. Smith is the only batter from either side to have scored over 750 runs in a Border-Gavaskar series. Former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting is in the second spot with 706 runs in four matches in 2003/4 India’s trip to down under. Virat Kohli leads India’s charge in the list. He smashed 692 runs in the 2014/15 tour to Australia. Like Smith, Kohli scored four hundreds, that also includes two hundreds in the same Test in Adelaide. Cheteshwar Pujara with his 521 runs in Border Gavaskar Trophy 2018/19 also finds a place in the list.
