Most sixes in an innings in IPL

West Indies player, Chris Gayle, popularly known as ‘Universal Boss’ holds the record of hitting the most sixes in an innings in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. Gayle showed sheer dominance by smashing 17 sixes in a breathtaking innings of 175 runs off just 66 balls for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) against Pune Warriors in Bengaluru.

Brendon McCullum is second in the list. The Kiwi batter showcased his own six-hitting prowess with 13 towering shots out of the park during his whirlwind knock of 158 runs off 73 balls for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) against RCB, also in Bengaluru. 

Gayle continued his assault, dispatching the ball into the stands 13 times in another explosive innings of 128 runs off 62 balls against Delhi Daredevils in Delhi, and 12 times during his 117-run onslaught off 57 balls against Kings XI Punjab back in Bengaluru. 

AB de Villiers

AB de Villiers, too, joined the six-hitting spree with 12 maximums during his spectacular innings of 129 runs off 52 balls for RCB against Gujarat Lions, contributing to the awe-inspiring display of boundary-clearing brilliance.
