Under the leadership of Rishabh Pant, the team will commence their campaign against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Mohali on March 23, 2024.
Over the years, the Delhi Capitals (DC) have been guided by several esteemed coaches. From 2008 to 2011, Greg Shipperd took charge, followed by Eric Simmons for the 2012-13 seasons. Gary Kirsten led the team in 2014-15, while Paddy Upton served as the coach for 2016-17. Since 2018, the team has been under the mentorship of Ricky Ponting, who continues to lead the Delhi Capitals to strive for success in the Indian Premier League.

DC 2024 Batting Coach
The Capitals’ leadership has yet to announce the appointment of a Batting Coach for DC 2024. With esteemed figures such as Sourav Ganguly serving as Director of Cricket and Ricky Ponting as Head Coach, some may contend that such a position may not even be necessary.
DC 2024 Bowling Coach
Former Australian all-rounder James Hopes has been appointed as the DC coach for fast bowling in 2024. Hopes boasts an impressive cricketing career, having represented the Australian cricket team in 84 ODIs and 12 T20Is. During his IPL tenure, he showcased his skills while playing for PBKS, PWI, and DC, accumulating 417 runs and claiming 14 wickets across 21 matches.
Joining Hopes on the coaching staff are Ajit Agarkar and Pravin Amre, serving as assistant coaches. Agarkar, a former Indian fast bowler, has a notable record of 288 ODI wickets, ranking third-highest among Indian bowlers. He has prior IPL experience with KKR and DC. Meanwhile, Pravin Amre, a former Indian leg-spinner, contributed to the national team with appearances in 11 Tests and 37 ODIs, bringing his wealth of experience to the coaching setup.
DC 2024 Fielding Coach
In IPL 2024, the Delhi Capitals have enlisted Biju George as their Fielding Coach. George brings a wealth of international coaching experience, having worked with various teams including the Indian women’s team, the Kuwait National Team, and stints with KKR for two seasons and SRH. Since joining the Capitals, George has infused a substantial amount of knowledge and expertise into the team.
