ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 will kick off on June 1 and will be held first time in the USA with a co-host West Indies. The defending champion England announced the squad for the T20 World Cup on Tuesday with the 15-member squad.
Heading the batting lineup is Jos Buttler, who will lead the defending champions, backed by contenders Will Jacks, Phil Salt, and Jonny Bairstow in the top order. Ben Duckett adds left-handed variety to the mix alongside veteran all-rounder Moeen Ali.
Providing firepower in the lower order are Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, and Sam Curran, while Adil Rashid takes charge of the spin attack with support from Tom Hartley.
Despite not featuring in recent England matches, experienced all-rounder Chris Jordan has still clinched a spot in the squad, his last international appearance dating back to September 2023.
Jofra Archer is set to make his comeback to international cricket after more than a year, as he’s been named in England’s squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. His absence from the England team dates back to March 2023 due to an elbow injury that required extensive recovery time. Archer’s journey back to full fitness hasn’t been without its challenges, including stress fractures, ongoing elbow issues, and even a surgery resulting from an unusual accident involving a fish tank in 2021.
