Sunrisers Hyderabad coach 2024

Sunrisers Hyderabad has changed the leadership of the entire team after a failed Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season where they ended last in the points table of the tournament. SRH have replaced Aiden Markram captaincy and handed over to ODI World Cup Champion Pat Cummins.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have appointed Daniel Vettori, a former New Zealand cricketer, as their new head coach. Vettori replaces Brian Lara, who only lasted one season with the team after they finished last in the 2023 season. This is the fourth coaching change for SRH in just six seasons, highlighting the instability within the team. Vettori brings experience from coaching Royal Challengers Bangalore and currently serves as an assistant coach for the Australian men’s team.

Vettoi has played 113 Test matches for the New Zealand team and he is currently coaching Birmingham Phoenix men’s team at the Hundred. He has also served as a coach of Barbados Royals in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League (BBL). Vettori was also part of Middlesex team of Vitality Blast T20 in the coaching staff. In addition, he has worked as a spin-bowling consultant with the Bangladesh men’s national cricket team.

Vettori’s final IPL season as a coach wasn’t too bad, and RCB’s best run may have occurred during his tenure, when he helped the team captained by Virat Kohli at the time qualify for the playoffs and come dangerously close to winning the championship in 2016 before letting that chance slip away in an exciting final against SRH—the team he will now be joining.

In preparation for the 2024 Indian Premier League season, they have appointed veteran fast bowler James Franklin as their pace bowling coach. The former South African speedster Dale Steyn, who asked for a leave of absence from the team this season due to personal reasons, is replaced by Franklin.

SRH 2024 Bowling Coach

Franklin, whose career for New Zealand comprises 31 Tests, 110 ODIs, and 38 T20Is between 2001 and 2013, earlier demonstrated his playing abilities for the Mumbai Indians in the 2011 and 2012 campaigns. However, he will be coaching for the first time in the Indian Premier League when he takes up the position of pace bowling coach for Sunrisers Hyderabad. The 43-year-old has served as assistant coach for Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League and as a coach for Durham in English county cricket.

SRH 2024 Fielding Coach

Ryan Cook, serving as the fielding coach for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), brings a wealth of cricketing experience and expertise to the team. Beyond his coaching role, Cook has left his mark on the cricketing world with his own playing career. Hailing from South Africa, Cook had a commendable cricketing journey before transitioning into coaching. He represented the Dolphins in domestic cricket and showcased his skills as an agile and dynamic fielder. Cook’s commitment to the game led him to various cricketing ventures, including stints in English county cricket.
