IPL 2023: The Delhi franchise have been part of the league since the inaugural season. The team was earlier known as Delhi Daredevils from 2008 to 2018 before the name was rebranded to Delhi Capitals. The franchise plays it’s home matches at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The franchise are yet to win a single IPL title. Regular captain Rishabh Pant won’t be available for the 2023 season, due to a road accident in December 2022. Instead of Pant, Australian opener David Warner would be leading the Delhi Capitals in 2023 season.

History
The franchisee made high profile signing in the past in form of Virender Sehwag, Shikhar Dhawan, Gautam Gambhir, Tillakaratne Dilshan and AB de Villiers. However the franchise never sustained with these high profile players and eventually released them. The first two years (2008 and 2009), saw them making it to the semi-finals, while in 2012 the team made it through the Playoffs. The franchise were at their all time low from 2013 to 2018 where they finished their campaign outside the top five. The change in ownership also brought change in fortunes. From 2019 to 2021 the capitals made the play-offs twice and made the finals in 2020.
Last year the Capitals missed the play-offs by a whisker.
