After disappointing Ireland and England T20Is, that Team India lost 0-2 & 0-4, it is redemption time, as the series against Zimbabwe commences on July 23. And for the same, a section of the squad members have already reached Harare. The list of players include Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, newly added pacer to the roster Ashok Sharma, and also Ravi Bishnoi, who comes in as an injury replacement.
Indian players reach Zimbabwe for T20I series
Zimbabwe Cricket released a small video of these Indian players reaching Harare. Though it is still not clear, if the other members of the squad have reached or not. Other than that, the players who were a part of the England ODIs, are also likely to join the team soon. Skipper Shreyas Iyer, of course played in the ODIs, and so did Prasidh Krishna, Ishan Kishan, Shivam Dube, Harsh Dubey, and Prince Yadav.

If one looks at the series gone by, Shreyas Iyer — the new captain failed to uplift the team — and after 7 games as a skipper is yet to win even one for the country. That just adds a bit of pressure on the side, who face the risk of losing to a side, who can be called minnows, but have been in some decent form off late.
They beat Bangladesh in a T20I in their recent series, and beat Sri Lanka and Australia at the T20 World Cup 2026. So, that just goes on to show, that the pressure would be on Iyer & Co. to deliver. In fact, in the 5-match series in 2024, they had gone on to defeat India in one of the matches.
