Women’s Premier League Auction 2023: The Women’s Premier League Auction 2023 is over in Mumbai. A total of 87 players were sold at the auction, that included 30 overseas players. The five franchises spent a mammoth Rs 59.50 Crore within a space of seven hours in Mumbai. Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore bagged a total of 18 players each. Mumbai Indians bought 17 players, while UP Warriorz bagged 16 players.
RCB bought big names like Smriti Mandhana, Ellyse Perry, Renuka Singh and Sophie Devine. Mumbai Indians has bagged the services of Indian women’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur. Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner and Natalie Sciver bagged the most expensive buys for overseas players. Both of them were sold for Rs 3.20 Crore each to Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians respectively. Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues to play for Delhi Capitals.
