MA Chidambaram Stadium

The MA Chidambaram Stadium Chennai, commonly known as the Chepauk Stadium, is an international cricket stadium in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The stadium is located at Chepauk, some distance away from Marina Beach, along the Bay of Bengal. Established in the year 1916, the Chepauk is the second-oldest cricket stadium in India after the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The stadium is owned by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association. It serves as the home ground to the Tamil Nadu cricket team and the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings.

In June 2009, the stadium underwent reconstruction at an estimated cost of Rs 175 crore. The renovation was completed in 2011. The new stand at the MA Chidambaram Stadium will be inaugurated on March 17, 2023.

The names of the two ends of the MA Chidambaram Stadium are Anna Pavilion End and V Pattaabhiraman End. The stadium has hosted 34 Tests, 31 ODIs, and 2 T20Is featuring Team India and served as neutral venues for other teams. The ground is relatively younger than some of the older grounds in India, like the Eden Gardens in Kolkata or the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
