Yuzvendra Chahal has started his fourth Indian Premier League (IPL) chapter. The leg spinner has officially joined the Punjab Kings (PBKS). Earlier today, Chahal turned up for his first training session for Punjab. With the IPL 2025 season still nearly two months away, PBKS has started their preparation by holding a pre-season camp. It wasn’t just Chahal who turned up but also Shashank Singh and Harpreet Brar.

PBKS will be the fourth IPL franchise that Chahal plays for. He started his career with the Mumbai Indians, staying with them for one season (2013). The leg spinner went to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) thereafter and made a name for himself. He donned RCB’s red jersey for eight years but was shockingly moved on from by the management.

He then stayed with the Rajasthan Royals for three seasons. They released the spinner before the mega auction in Jeddah and was then bagged by PBKS for a whopping Rs 18 crore. The pre-season officially starts a new journey for him. There have been speculations about his troubles off the field, but amid all of that, he’s doing his job on the field efficiently.
Chahal did extremely well in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Haryana, with Harshal Patel being the only other bowler from his state who picked up more wickets than him. They couldn’t make it out of Group C, but he and the Punjab Kings will hope his good form continues and he, alongside new captain Shreyas Iyer, takes the team to their first IPL trophy.
