The broadcasters of the NZ vs SA Test series made a goof-up as New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson and Glenn Philips’ photos were mistakenly shown in South Africa’s squad. The two-match Test series between the Kiwis and inexperienced Proteas squad is currently underway.
NZ vs SA: Kane Williamson, Philips for Proteas?
New Zealand dominated Day 1 of the Test as Williamson and Rachin Ravindra put together a 200+run partnership. After losing openers Devon Conway and Tom Latham early in the innings, the duo of Rachin-Williamson went on to score tons each.
Rachin took 189 deliveries to reach his century, smashing 11 boundaries and a six en route to the milestone. Skipper Williamson slammed his 30th Test century, surpassing Virat Kohli’s record.
At the end of the day’s play, New Zealand are 258/2, with Williamson unbeaten on 112 runs and Ravindra on 118 runs.
