Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have been forced to make a change in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. One of the overseas players, Brydon Carse, has been ruled out of the 18th edition of the league. SRH has announced Wiaan Mulder as Carse’s replacement, and the South African all-rounder will join the franchise for Rs 75 lakh.
Wiaan Mulder replaces Brydon Carse in SRH’s squad
Carse, who was part of the England cricket team’s squad for the ICC Champions Trophy, had sustained a toe injury against Australia on February 22. He was ruled out of the tournament, and the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had named Rehan Ahmed as his replacement. It seems that the injury was so serious that Carse won’t be able to play until the end of May.
Mulder has been in fine form for the last few months and will be a great addition for SRH. The all-rounder played the ICC Champions Trophy semifinal as well and would most likely join SRH pretty soon, now that South Africa’s campaign was ended by New Zealand.
SRH and their injury issues
This isn’t the only issue that SRH has had. Their captain, Pat Cummins, has been out since early January and missed the ICC Champions Trophy. Cummins has claimed that he’ll be fit for the IPL 2025 season, so that’s a good update for them. Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar Reddy had gotten injured in January as well, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) hasn’t given an update on his fitness yet.
