Lucknow Super Giants history
LSG in IPL 2022
Debutants Lucknow Super Giants played some of the most eye-catching cricket of the season as they made their way to the playoffs. For a large part of the season, they were one of the two best sides in the tournament, if not the best. The KL Rahul-led side lost two of their last three league phase encounters and that severely dented their chances of reaching the final. One more victory from those two matches would have ensured a top-two finish in the points table, and two shots at the spot in the final.
LSG in IPL 2023:
Lucknow Super Giants, just as they did in their inaugural season, secured a commendable fourth-place finish in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023). After the completion of the league stage, Unfortunately, their journey came to an end in the Eliminator, where they faced a devastating defeat. In a repeat of last year, it was the Mumbai Indians who dealt the knockout blow this time, inflicting an overwhelming 81-run defeat upon Lucknow Super Giants at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
LSG in IPL 2024:
LSG failed to make it to the playoffs in their third season. It was the first instance when they were unable to advance to the second stage of the league. LSG finished their IPL 2024 campaign in seventh position.
LSG in IPL 2025:
For a second consecutive season, Lucknow failed to progress to the playoffs, finishing 7th in the league stage. Under Rishabh Pant’s leadership, LSG won just 6 out of 14 matches after suffering injury blows to their entire Indian pace attack.
