Everyone remembers how the IND vs PAK clash toss went in the Asia Cup 2025. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav just did not seem interested in shaking hands with the opposition leader Salman Ali Agha. That was a statement enough. And on Friday, Surya did the complete opposite at the toss, where he not only shook hands with Oman skipper Jatinder Singh, but also went ahead and hugged him after winning the toss.
Suryakumar Yadav Forgets Team at Toss
In this small gesture, Surya conveyed what needed to be, to Pakistan, who look pretty concerned over the sportsman spirit. But not just this subtle messaging, but Surya managed to bring a smile on the Indian fan’s faces. While talking about the team changes, he forgot the player name coming in place of Bumrah.
That made him exclaim, “I’ve become like Rohit.” Talking about the match and decision to bat first, he added, “We are looking to bat first. We have not batted first in this competition and we want to know our depth. Having game time is important going into the Super 4s. We want to continue the good habits we are doing in the first two games and want to continue to do that. It is looking nice and our openers will assess it further.”
“I’ve Become Like Rohit”
Meanwhile, India have qualified for the Asia Cup Super 4s already and Oman is just a practice match for them. They beat UAE and PAK before in the tournament, and play the arch-rivals against in the Super 4 stage on September 21.
India (Playing XI): Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson(w), Suryakumar Yadav(c), Tilak Varma, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav.
