Shreyas Iyer drops Yuzvendra Chahal for PBKS vs DC tie

Yuzvendra Chahal has been left out of PBKS' playing XI for their game against Delhi Capitals on Saturday

Punjab Kings have decided to leave out Yuzvendra Chahal for the side’s clash against DC on Saturday. Shreyas Iyer and co. are eyeing to go on the top of the points table with a win against an already eliminated DC. PBKS have picked Harpreet Brar over Chahal in their playing XI and haven’t even named the latter as an impact substitute.

No Chahal in PBKS’ playing XI

Chahal has been one of PBKS’ best bowlers in IPL 2025. He has 14 wickets to his name from 12 matches, including a hat-trick. However, he has been slightly expensive this season, boasting of an economy rate of 9.56.

Speaking at the toss, PBKS captain Shreyas informed that Marcus Stoinis and Josh Inglis had returned to the playing XI.

I am not satisfied and content. We want to build momentum from here. Each and every individual is performing for the team. Job half done as of now. Important to stay in the present and seize every possible chance,” Iyer said.

DC won the toss and have decided to bowl first in the contest against PBKS. Faf du Plessis continues to lead the side as Axar Patel is set to miss this game as well.
