The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has started the hiring process for Pakistan’s men’s cricket team’s coaches. They already have Jason Gillespie and Gary Kirsten as head coaches of the Test and ODI-T20I teams and Tim Nielsen as a high-performance coach, but they are looking for a fielding, mental performance, and special skills coach.
Champions Trophy, a priority
Simon Helmot and David Reid were Pakistan’s fielding and mental performance coaches for the T20 World Cup, but these positions are up for grabs at the moment. These two coaches will be part of all three formats, while the special skills coach is only required for white-ball cricket.
The PCB is currently preparing for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, and renovations are going on at two of the three venues selected for hosting the tournament. The hiring of a special skills coach indicates that they want to bolster their team for the first ICC event they will host since 1996.
The applicants interested for the roles can submit their applications until September 4.
