Rishabh Pant would feel that he missed out on a few chances to play for India, due to his ankle injury that he sustained in the penultimate Test in England. First he was not in consideration for the Asia Cup, then missed out on the West Indies series, and now the Australia limited-overs series as well.
Rishabh Pant On Path to Recovery
Yes, the BCCI announced the T20I and ODI teams for AUS series on Saturday, and Pant was obviously not there. Instead, the likes of KL Rahul and Dhuv Jurel were picked for the 50 overs, while Jitesh Sharma and Sanju Samson were the picks for the 20-over format.
South Africa Series Main Target
But then, the next target for Rishabh Pant would be to get fit in time for the IND vs SA Test series at home in November. And for that he is leaving no stone unturned. Recently, a video of him batting in the nets went viral, that clearly shows the progress he has made. Though it seems, he is yet to attain 100% fitness, but still a positive sign for future.
The South Africa series starts on November 14, followed by three ODIs and five T20Is, with the series ending only on December 19. Meanwhile, he had a decent time in England, where he scored 479 runs in the series, with two tons and three fifties. His average there was 68, and went on to hit 17 sixes in 7 innings.
