Tamil Nadu have announced their 15-member squad for the second leg of Ranji Trophy that begins on January 23. Led by captain Sai Kishore, the side will see pacer Sandeep Warrier return to the team while pacer Gurjapneet Singh will miss out due to an injury. Tamil Nadu are currently on top of the standings in Group D.
No Ashwin, Washi in Tamil Nadu’s Ranji Trophy squad
All-rounder Washington Sundar has not been named in Tamil Nadu’s squad. He was a part of the Indian Test team in IND vs NZ series and the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He has been included in the squad for IND vs ENG T20Is which will begin from January 22, a day before the second leg of Ranji Trophy gets underway. Sundar is also expected to be picked in the squad for ODIs and ICC Champions Trophy.

Meanwhile, veteran Ravichandran Ashwin isn’t a part of the squad either. After announcing his retirement from international cricket midway through the IND vs AUS Test series last year, it was expected that he will return to domestic cricket once again. However, the wait continues as he could perhaps return in the next season.
Tamil Nadu have two more matches to go in the group stage of Ranji Trophy. They will take on Chandigarh in their first match of the second leg on January 23.
