Seven matches and only three wins; Mumbai Indians have a few problems up their sleeve, and the foremost one has to be the form of Rohit Sharma. But then, who can be a suitable replacement for player of such a stature? And does the Mumbai management has enough power to do so? Perhaps not.
Apart from that, the batters have shone here and there, and then the bowlers have been largely good. So InsideSport takes a look at the predicted MI XI for the CSK match.
No Replacement for Rohit Sharma
IN six matches he has scored 82 runs in, and that too at an average of 13. In the last match against SRH, he achieved a best score of 26 in IPL 2025, but then that hasn’t been enough. But that said, MI just can’t replace him at all. Even if he fails in the upcoming match vs CSK.
If at all, the team should consider getting in Shrijith Krishnan, who was excellent in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. There he had scored 213 runs at an average of 42, and a strike-rate of 176.
Bowling Attack Remains the Same, Maybe Ashwani Kumar in
Hardik Pandya has been their best bowler who has picked 11 wickets in 6 matches. But the others have chipped in too. Vignesh Puthur has six in four, while Trent Boult has as many in seven matches. Ashwani Kumar deserves a look-in but; he has five wickets in two matches.
MI Predicted XI vs CSK
Predicted XI: Rohit Sharma, Ryan Rickelton (wk), Will Jacks, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya (c), Naman Dhir, Mitchell Santner, Deepak Chahar, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah.
