Marnus Labuschagne seems to be finding his groove in the T20s, as the batter is again starting to show all-round prowess. Playing for Redlands in the KFC T20 Max final vs Valley, Labuschange picked a hat-trick and returned with figures of 3/13, to take his side to a 41-run victory.
Marnus Labuschagne Takes Redlands to Title
Earlier in the day, after batting first, the Redlands went on to post a solid 191/6, where the Aussie regular made 16 from 10 deliveries, while Jimmy Peirson made 102 from 50 deliveries. Valley were poor in their chase right from the start, and were 12/3 at one stage; only Max Bryant scored 76 from 38 while the others failed.
Meanwhile, Marnus Labuschagne’s victims included Tighe Morris, Cameron Boyce and No. 11 Tom Hallion, taking the team to the title. The 31-year-old had been in sensational form in the tournament, and had earlier scored 100 from just 57 deliveries vs University of Queensland, while chasing 195. Overall, he scored 146 runs in three matches in the tournament.
Busy Schedule Ahead
This performance could come as big relief for the Aussie, who was recently dropped from the Test XI due to poor form. November could be a big Test for him with the Ashes coming up, and Australia would want their no. 3 in the best of form, coming into the series.
Prior to that, he would also have a chance to play some Sheffield Shield matches for his side, which start in October. In fact, before the Ashes commences, the Aussies are slated to play a home white-ball series against the Indians.
