On Tuesday, the ICC revealed their latest rankings for women in ODIs, and India fast bowler Kranti Gaud, who is slowly earning her name as team’s spearhead, made a big move in the bowler’s list. All of 22, Gaud went on to pick up four wickets in two matches of the ICC Women’s World Cup, and that helped her move four spots to the 33rd place.
Kranti Gaud Makes Presence Felt
Kranti Gaud has 448 points now, and looks good for a few more, with as many as five matches left in the tournament. Meanwhile, the women’s ODI bowler’s rankings are headed by England spinner Sophie Ecclestone, who has 792 points in all, while the best-placed Indian is Deepti Sharma at No. 6.
Sneh Rana fell two spots and is 18th in the list, while Renuka Singh Thakur is placed at 25th, and is making a comeback after an injury layoff. On the other hand, Smriti Mandhana continued to lead the charts in the ODI women’s batter rankings. She has 791 points in all, followed by Nat Sciver-Brunt at 731.
Smriti Mandhana Best in ODIs
The Indian batters aren’t in the best of form in this World Cup, and that was reflective in the rankings too. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur fell two spots to 16. She has scored 21 and 19 so far. Middle-order batter Jemimah Rodrigues also fell a spot to 21st. But Harleen Deol made a remarkable improvement in her ranking, and rose 7 spots to be at the 38th spot now.
The team rankings remained the same, with Australia, England, and India occupying the top three spots, and with New Zealand completing the top 4.
