IPL 2025: The Delhi Capitals are yet to announce their captain for the upcoming Indian Premier League. Speaking about the options, DC has two strong contenders in the form of KL Rahul and Axar Patel. However, some reports have emerged that Rahul is likely to miss some of the matches in the IPL. In this article, we will check out the captaincy records of both KL Rahul and Axar Patel in the IPL and find out who has a better record in the competition’s history.

KL Rahul IPL captaincy record

KL Rahul has captained two IPL teams so far: Punjab Kings (2020-2021) and Lucknow Super Giants (2022-2024). Across 64 matches as captain, he has won 31 games, lost 31, and had 2 tied matches, giving him a win percentage of approximately 48.43%.

Under his leadership, Lucknow Super Giants reached the playoffs twice, although they were eliminated in the Eliminator round both times. Rahul is known for his consistent batting performances, scoring over 500 runs in six out of seven seasons from 2018 to 2024.

Axar Patel IPL captaincy record

Axar Patel has not yet captained any IPL team. However, he has been a key player for the Delhi Capitals for several seasons, showcasing his all-round abilities.
