Just days after Pakistan Super League (PSL)’s first-ever player auction, the Islamabad United team have removed West Indies pacer Shamar Joseph from their squad. According to reports quoting ESPNcricinfo, the decision by the franchise comes after mutual consent between both parties. Furthermore, it has been reported that neither the player nor the franchise intends to make any statement with the decision being approved by the technical committee.
It is to be noted that the franchise roped in Shamar Joseph at the auction for his base price of PKR 11 million. The United was the sole team bidding for him and acquired his services.
Blessing Muzarabani in PSL 2026
With Shamar Joseph’s exit from the PSL, the three-time champions have roped in the services of Zimbabwean seamer Blessing Muzarabani. The pace sensation will join the likes of Mohammad Hasnain, Salman Irshad, Mohammad Wasim Jr. Mir Hamza and Richard Gleeson in the Islamabad United colours.
Notably, the 29-year-old has previously played PSL and was part of the team that won the title in 2021.
Although, he was seen struggling in the previous edition, but his recent run of form has put him in contention. Furthermore, Muzarabani will join the only other Zimbabwean player – Sikandar Raza after clearance from the technical committee ahead of PSL 2026.
