It has been a few days already since India’s Sunil Gavaskar’s comments on the Pakistan cricket team created a controversy, but then Inzamam-ul-JHaq has responded only now. The legend had said, “I think even India’s B team would give Pakistan a tough challenge. It would be very hard for Pakistan’s current team to beat them.”
Inzamam-ul-Haq Gets Emotional Over Pakistan’s Criticism
In short, he had even criticised the intent of batters of stature of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, for not being able to deliver for their team. “Pakistan has talented players, but they haven’t been able to build a strong backup. It’s surprising that they have struggled to produce batters like Inzamam-ul-Haq. The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is being played domestically, yet it hasn’t yielded enough top-quality batters,” he said.
..Warns Sunil Gavaskar
But then the former Pakistan skipper hasn’t taken those words very kindly. He asked Gavaskar to be wary of what he says about the team. “Gavaskar sahab should see stats. He is an elder and senior; we respect him. But when talking about someone’s country….your team has played well. You have the right to praise your team. But it’s not right to say about another team like this. Please be careful with your words, I am saying this in a slightly harsh tone,” Inzi was quoted as saying by GeoSuper.
It is important to note that Pakistan failed to win even a single match in the Champions Trophy, suffered major losses against India and New Zealand, and the match vs Bangladesh was washed out. All the poor performance despite them playing in their home conditions.
