In a bid to ramp up their preparations for the Women’s World Cup 2025, India women’s cricket team will undergo a camp in Vishakhapatnam before the start of the tournament. The marquee event, which is scheduled to begin from September 30 onwards, will be held in India while Pakistan will play their matches in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The BCCI announced a 15-member squad for the WC on Tuesday, with Harmanpreet Kaur named as captain and Smriti Mandhana as her deputy.
Vizag pit stop for India before Women’s World Cup
As per Times of India, India women will undergo a 7-day preparatory camp in Vishakhapatnam from August 25 onwards. Harmanpreet and co. are scheduled to take on South Africa on Octiber 9 and Australia on Octiber 12 at the ADA-VDCA YS Rajashekara Reddy stadium in Vizag. Last week, Team India checked into the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru for a 10-day preparatory camp. The objective was to work on strength and conditioning, enhance fitness, and fine-tune skills for the task ahead.
