Sachin Tendulkar praises Vaibhav Suryavanshi
Following Vaibhav Suryavanshi‘s record-breaking maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) hundred, Tendulkar took to X (formerly Twitter) to heap praise on the 14-year-old.
Everyone saw the power the teenager has, but what took the highest scorer in cricket history was the batter’s fearless approach. Tendulkar was mighty impressed by Suryavanshi’s bat speed, ability to pick the length quickly and his follow-through when playing a shot.
As a teenage prodigy himself, Tendulkar knows a bit about making it big early. He himself scored his maiden Ranji Trophy hundred at 15 while making his Mumbai debut. And less than a year later, he made his international debut as well. So when he heaps praise on Suryvanshi, he speaks from experience.
Suryavanshi thanks Yashasvi Jaiswal
The 14-year-old specifically thanks Yashasvi Jaiswal after his hundred. 10 years senior to him, Suryavanshi talked about how Jaiswal helps him in the middle. Advising him how to go about things. And also added that at 14, ‘fear’ isn’t a word present in his dictionary.
“It is a very good feeling. It’s my first hundred in the IPL, and it’s my third innings. The result is shown here after the practice before the tournament. I just see the ball and play. Batting with Jaiswal is good; he tells me what to do, and he infuses positive things. It has been a dream to get a 100 in the IPL, and today it materialised. There is no fear. I don’t think much; I just focus on playing,” Suryavanshi said after the match.
