Delhi Capitals will kick-start their IPL 2025 campaign with Vishakhapatnam set to host their tournament opener. The schedule for the new season of the cash-rich league is yet to be unveiled and is expected to be announced on Monday, as per reports. Along with Dharamsala and Guwahati, Vizag is the third non-regular centre for IPL 2025.
DC to play first IPL 2025 game in Vishakhapatnam
As per Cricbuzz, Vishakhapatnam will continue to serve as DC’s second home. The venue is set to host two matches and has been retained by the BCCI as an IPL centre. The report states that while the exact dates for the matches are yet to be announced, it is certain that the Capitals will commence their campaign in the coastal city.

Meanwhile, DC are yet to name their new captain. While it is expected that Axar Patel will be handed over the reins, KL Rahul remains in the contest as well. The Capitals are on the look out for a new skipper after releasing Rishabh Pant ahead of the mega auction.
The Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy ADA-VDCA stadium hosted a couple of IPL matches in 2024 as well. IPL 2025 will get underway from March 22, with Eden Gardens, Kolkata set to host the KKR vs RCB clash. SRH will take on RR in Hyderabad in the second game of the season on March 23. The second game of the double header on that day will take place between MI and CSK at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai.
Meanwhile, Punjab Kings will play three home matches in Dharamsala and the remaining four in Mullanpur. GT will play their tournament opener at the Narendra Modi stadium, Ahmedabad on March 25. MI will play their first home game at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai on March 31. The IPL 2025 final will be played at the Eden Gardens on May 25.
