Asian Games 2023 India Squad – The Asian Games 2023 are scheduled to take place in Hangzhou, China, from September 23 to October 08. Originally, slated to take place in 2022, the games were postponed because of Covid-19. With this, Hangzhou now becomes the third Chinese city to host the Games after Beijing in 1990, and Guangzhou in 2010. The Games will be spread across 44 venues, with a few events taking place in a few other districts as well. At the Asian Games 2023, 45 nations will be participating and vying for over 430 gold medals.
India will be sending its strongest-ever 656-member contingent, spearheaded by Tokyo 2020 gold medalist Neeraj Chopra. Also in the fray will be some big names like Mirabai Chanu in weightlifting, PV Sindhu in badminton, and Lovlina Borgohain in boxing.

Indian BADMINTON Squad: PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy will lead a 19-member Indian squad for the Asian Games 2023. Sindhu, Prannoy, Men’s Doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty and Women’s duo Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand made the cut directly to the squad based on their rankings.
Players like Kidambi Srikanth, Lakshya Sen and Ashmitha Chaliha meanwhile qualified via the selection trials. Former Asian Games medallist Saina Nehwal miss out of the list.

Indian Hockey Squad CWG 2022: The Indian men’s and women’s teams will be fighting to seal spots in the Paris Olympics. The team that wins the Asian Games gold will seal a direct berth in the upcoming Olymics.

The 10-member Indian squad comprises five players each in Men and Women’s category. The Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) also has named four reserve players.

12 Men and 9 women swimmers will be in action in the tournament representing India.

Indian WEIGHTLIFTING Squad: Tokyo Olympic Silver Medallist Mirabai Chanu and Commonwealth Games medallist Bindyarani Devi will be the only lifters to represent in the country in Weiglifting.
Achinta Sheuli and N Ajith were also named in the initial squad in the Men’s event. However their names have been cut from the Indian delegation.

Indian WRESTLING Squad: Olympic Medallist Bajrang Punia will lead a 18-member Indian Wrestling contingent at the Asian Games. Bajrang was given an exemption from the selection trials. He will represent the country in the 65kg category.
Meanwhile, Vinesh Phogat, who was originally named in the squad had to miss the event due to an injury. Two-time Under-20 World Champion Antim Panghal will replace her in the squad.
