157th ranked Andrea Vavassori ousts Sumit Nagal in 1st round of Canberra Challenger

Sumit Nagal faced a challenging start in the first round of the Canberra Challenger as he succumbed to a defeat against the 157th-ranked Andrea Vavassori.

 India No. 1 in singles Sumit Nagal started the year with a bump. Ranked no. 138, Nagal faced a tough 2-1 loss against 157-ranked Andrea Vavassori in the 1st round of 1st round of the Canberra Challenger on Tuesday. Despite starting on a high Nagal who won the first set 7-6, succumbed in the final two losing the both 4-6 and 5-7.
