Rising star Rachin Ravindra, following up on his impressive debut knock against RCB, smashed a fiery 46 off just 20 balls, setting the tone for the innings. Shivam Dube then continued the onslaught with a brutal 23-ball 51, propelling CSK to a daunting total of 206 runs.
MS Dhoni Batting Position confirmed by Hussey
While fans eagerly await MS Dhoni’s batting exploits, CSK batting coach Michael Hussey has confirmed his position in the playing XI. Speaking at the post-match press conference, Hussey explained the team’s strategy:
“Well certainly it’s been a directive from Stephen Fleming (CSK coach) to keep pushing the game forward. As I mentioned with the impact player rule coming up, teams line-ups especially the batting line-up keep lengthening up. I think we got MS Dhoni at Number 8, which is crazy you know.”
Michael Hussey elaborated on Dhoni’s current form and the team’s batting philosophy:
“MS Dhoni is batting very well at the moment. Because we have got so much depth in our resources in our batting, the player up the order if they are in two minds can take the positive approach. And they have certainly the backing from coaches and captain. We want to keep playing fast.“

While MS Dhoni hasn’t had the opportunity to bat yet this season, his presence remains crucial for CSK. During their match against GT, Dhoni’s exceptional catching skills left the crowd and commentators in awe.
He grabbed a sensational catch in the eighth over, leaving even cricketing legend Sunil Gavaskar astounded.
