IPL 2027: It is still not confirmed that MI want to give up Hardik Pandya for the next season, but there are few reports, that claim so.

Currently, in the world of IPL, the rumour of Hardik Pandya‘s potential trade deal is doing the rounds. MI are reportedly looking to trade the ace all-rounder ahead of IPL 2027, who has played majority of his cricket with this side. For the last three seasons, he has even led the team, after spending a couple of years with GT — where he won them the title as well. While, with the news of Pandya’s trade, all the teams would be interested, former India batter Aakash Chopra feels, that GT might not be in the mood to take him back.

GT don’t have much to offer to MI

In fact, he opined that even RCB and SRH might want to skip; considering they don’t have much to offer to MI, in place of Hardik Pandya, if the talks of a trade deal do happen. “It seems all teams are interested, or such rumours are spreading. Only two teams don’t want him. They are RCB and SunRisers Hyderabad. It’s been heard that everyone else, including the Gujarat Titans, is interested. I am just wondering whether the Gujarat Titans would also be interested. What can those seven teams give to Mumbai?” Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel.

He further explained, that the Shubman Gill-led side is the one of the most-balanced teams for the last two years in IPL, where their bowlers and batters contribute alike, in the team’s success. Gill, along with Sai Sudharsan forms a very potent partnership, while there is Jos Buttler in at no. 3. In the bowling, there is Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj, Rashid Khan, and Kagiso Rabada, who take wickets by heaps.

“Who can Gujarat give? I don’t think they will be interested in this trade, but Mumbai can ask for Rashid. However, it’s doubtful. You can also ask for Kagiso Rabada, but why would they release a Purple Cap-winning guy? In any case, I don’t think this is likely to happen because he came from the Gujarat Titans only. Why would you want to go down that route? Shubman Gill is captaining the side. Why would you assemble two alphas in this team?” Chopra added.
