SRH vs KKR, IPL 2026: Kolkata hand Sunrisers Hyderabad 7-wicket loss

Kolkata Knight Riders have secured their third win of the tournament as they beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets. A 59-run knock form Angkrish Raghuvanshi set up the perfect stage for the visitors in the run-chase, while Rinku Singh (22) and Cameron Green (3) stayed unbeaten at the end to complete the run-chase with 10 balls to spare

KKR need just 7 runs from 14 deliveries and are closing in on their 3rd win of IPL 2026. A wide call which has been reviewed by KKR has been overturned.

Now Angkrish finds the fielder. It isn't ending the way it should have for KKR. They are still in control, 15 off 20 needed, but ideally Angkrish should've ended the game since he played 47 balls.

A short ball at the rib cage from Cummins and Angkrish misses it. He's down on the ground. The physio comes out to treat. Luckily, he's fit to continue.

Rahane was going nowhere. He was stuck. He just couldn't play the short, slower balls by Sakib and finally mistimes one to short midwicket. Rahane scored just 22 (22) after the powerplay. KKR might be in a bit of a pickle now.

Angkrish has reached his fifty but his strike rate is just 127.50. A good knock for him but one has to wonder whether it's helping KKR. They remain at run a ball despite being 105/1 after 10 overs.

Like SRH, KKR have started to struggle post the 10th over. The surface is slow and neither Rahane nor Angkrish can get the ball away. Their strike rates have dropped significantly. Both need to get a move on. Or else, the game could needlessly go into the 18th or 19th over.

Yes, the ball isn't coming onto the bat and it's spinning as well, but they lack intent at the moment.

The game is done. All that matters is how quickly KKR can cross the finish line. Mind you, precious NRR points are on the line here. If KKR go on a run here and win their remaining games, it could decide the qualification. Rahane and Angkrish need to go harder now, since 9 wickets are still in hand.

SRH has subbed in Sakib Hussain but it seems like the wrong choice. On a surface where spinners have done well and seeing that Abhishek has been the most economical bowler so far, one would expect them to bring Harsh Dubey in.

The move to send Angkrish has worked. Yes, Malinga has bowled too short to him and has been hit for 2 sixes, but he's doing the job. KKR ends the powerplay at 71/1. The RRR isn't even 7 now.

A wild idea, but KKR could've tried sending Narine here. They are already ahead in the game and could've completely killed the chase. Also, Abhishek is bowling, so Narine would've had a great match-up as well.

Allen has opened his arms now. Cummins errs. First five wides as he tries to keep the ball out of Allen's arc, then he bowls short deliveries that get pumped for sixes on deep square leg. Cummins overcompensates with a full ball in the slot and gets hit for a four over mid-off, then once again goes over and Allen pulls him again at deep square leg.

However, he has him caught at mid-wicket with a full ball. But Allen does his bit. 29 off 13, as 27 came off the 4th over.

After the first over of spin, Cummins brought himself on and then Eshan Malinga. Cutters and off-pace deliveries seem to be working, given the slowness of the surface. 

KKR aren't finding it easy to score, which was the case in the backend of the first innings as well.

Pat Cummins has decided to hand the first over to left-arm spinner Abhishek Sharma because 2 righties are batting. An interesting approach since both Rahane and Allen do enjoy pace more than spin.

Sunil Narine not only becomes the first overseas bowler to take 200 wickets in the Indian Premier League, but is also the first to do so for a franchise.

Vaibhav Arora gets the last wicket as SRH have been bowled out for the first time in IPL 2026. The team, who fared well until the end of 10 overs, suffered a sudden collapse thereafter, and managed to score just 165 runs in 19 overs before they were bundled out. Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy were the standout bowlers for the visitors. KKR need 166 runs to win.

Shivang Kumar gloves one to the keeper and is the next batter to depart. The on-field umpire says it is not out and KKR decide to review it. UltraEdge shows a spike as the ball passes the gloves and the batter has to depart. SRH are 9 down now.

Anukul Roy takes a brilliant catch to dismiss the SRH captain for a caught and bowled. While the on-field umpire says it is not out, KKR decide to go upstairs. Replays show that the catch has been taken cleanly! What a catch!

Sunil Narine picks up his second wicket of the over as Ishan Kishan gets caught out. The SRH batter has to walk back after scoring 42 runs as the hosts continue to lose wickets in quick succession.

Sunil Narine becomes the first overseas player to get his 200th wicket in the Indian Premier League as he gets rid of Salil Arora. The Caribbean star joins Yuzvendra Chalal and Bhuvneshwar Kumar on the elite list of players with 200 scalps in the IPL.

Varun Chakravarthy is limping as he is struggling to bowl. He is bowling his last over and has two wickets to his name. Wait, now Aniket Verma gets caught out, however, thanks to a brilliant catch from Ajinkya Rahane. VC gets his 3rd wicket!

Despite losing Heinrich Klaasen, Ishan Kishan continues to lead the charge for SRH and is currently on 34 off 24 balls. KKR have managed to pull things back in the last few overs with some tight bowling.

Smaran Ravichandran, who was making his IPL debut, gets dismissed cheaply as he is sent packing for just 4 runs. Varun Chakravarthy gets his 2nd wicket as the SRH batter gets caught out by Ajinkya Rahane.

Rovman Powell takes a stunning one-handed catch near the boundary ropes to get rid of the dangerous Heinrich Klaasen. The third umpire reviews the catch and it is adjudged out as the SRH batter is confirmed to be out. What a catch!

After scoring his second consecutive half-century, Travis Head is dismissed by Varun Chakravarthy just before the end of the 9th over as he gets caught out by Cameron Green. SRH lose their second wicket and KKR get the much-needed breakthrough. This is the third consecutive time that SRH have scored 100+ runs in the first 10 overs and their sixth of the season.

The 50-run partnership comes up between Ishan Kishan and Travis Head off just over 25 deliveries as SRH continue to tear apart the KKR bowlers.

Travis Head brings up his half-century in style with a huge maximum and he reaches the milestone off just 22 deliveries. SRH continue to dominate the KKR bowlers. Anukul Roy missed a good chance to get rid of Head earlier in the over.

Travis Head leads the charge as they cross the 70-run mark in the powerplay for the 6th time in IPL 2026. After losing Abhishek Sharma earlu in the innings, the team managed to reach 71/1 at the end of the powerplay

Sunrisers Hyderabad have crossed the 50-run mark in the 5th over as Travis Head leads the charge. The Australian is dealing in boundaries.

Karthik Tyagi draws the first blood as Abhishek Sharma is caught out by Cameron Green in the 30-yard circle for 15 runs. SRH lose their first wicket after a good start in the powerplay. Tyagi has been steaming in, having bowled 140+ kmph deliveries throughout his over.

Narine concedes 11 runs in his second over as Travis Head slams him for a six and a four. SRH continue to dominate the powerplay while KKR are still on the hunt for their first breakthrough.

Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head are out in the middle to commence the proceedings for SRH and they will be eyeing a strong start and terrorize the bowlers as always. Sunil Narine starts with the new ball and he is one wicket away to become the first overseas bowler to get 200 wickets in the IPL.

"We wanted to bat first as well. Those breaks so far, it really helped us as a team, re-coupling and thinking about the things which we did right and the improvement point of view. As I said in the last game as well, it's all about winning those moments, small, small moments in this format," KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane said at the toss. 

"It's very unlikely we're going to win every single game for the rest of the season, but we know this style works and we're five in a row at the moment. So even if there's a little glitch, just keep buying for that style. Nitish misses out.
