Team Huddle and Special Chat ft Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma engaged in a lively group discussion that included fellow players Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, KS Bharat, and even former cricketer Gautam Gambhir.

However, his attention soon turned towards the approaching figure of Rinku Singh, a rising star with the KKR team.

Rohit Sharma chats with Rinku Singh

Rohit Sharma stepped away from the group and engaged in a private conversation with Rinku Singh.

While the content of their chat remains unknown, many speculate it could have been a word of encouragement following Rinku’s recent omission from the T20 World Cup squad.

Reacting to Rinku Singh snub from T20 WC team, his father was quoted as saying by Bharat24 that “there were a lot of hopes and that is why there is a bit of disappointment. We brought sweets, crackers to celebrate, we thought Rinku would play in the first eleven. Still, we are very happy. Yes, he is heartbroken. He spoke to his mother and told her that he was not picked in the 11 or 15. But he also said that he will be travelling with the team.”

Ajit Agarkar explains Tough Rinku Singh call

Ajit Agarkar, chairman of the selection committee, had previously acknowledged the difficulty in leaving Rinku Singh out of the World Cup squad. He emphasized that Rinku had “done nothing wrong” and his omission was purely based on team composition choices.

Abhishek Nayar, KKR’s assistant coach, strongly defended Rinku’s form. He argued that despite not having numerous innings with massive scores, Rinku Singh’s contributions have been crucial for the team. Nayar highlighted that Rinku’s runs, even if coming in short bursts, have played a critical role in KKR’s success.

Nayar further explained the unique role of a finisher in T20 cricket. He emphasized that while Rinku might not always have a high run total, his ability to perform exceptionally well within a limited number of balls is a valuable asset.
