VALORANT Masters Madrid Playoffs day 1 concludes with qualification of two teams to Upper Bracket Finals of the event.

The VCT 2024 Masters Madrid Playoffs kicked off with the final four teams battling it out in the Upper Bracket. In a rematch of the Kickoff finals, Gen.G and Paper Rex squared off, while Sentinels faced LOUD. Gen.G and Sentinels dominated the day 1 of VALORANT Masters Madrid Playoffs. Gen.G Roars Through Paper Rex

Gen.G continued their impressive run in the tournament, dismantling Paper Rex (PRX) with a dominant 2-0 sweep. On Split, Gen.G secured a commanding lead in the first half and effortlessly converted it into a victory in the second. The story repeated itself on Lotus, where PRX struggled to contain Gen.G’s momentum. Despite valiant efforts from d4v41, Gen.G’s superior team coordination proved too much to handle for PRX. This win secures Gen.G a top-three finish at Masters Madrid.

Sentinels Survive LOUD’s Scare

Sentinels showcased their elite skills by crushing LOUD on the first map, Split. Stellar performances from johnqt, TenZ, and Zellsis led to a resounding 13-4 victory for Sentinels. However, LOUD refused to go down without a fight. They bounced back on Icebox, forcing overtime and eventually winning the map to tie the series.

Sunset, the decider map, mirrored Icebox with another overtime battle. Ultimately, Sentinels emerged victorious, securing a hard-fought 2-1 series win. Johnqt emerged as the MVP for Sentinels, consistently making impactful plays throughout the entire series.

With their victories, Sentinels and Gen.G now face each other in the Upper Bracket Finals. This match will determine the first team to secure a spot in the Grand Finals. Meanwhile, LOUD and Paper Rex will battle it out in the Lower Bracket Semifinals, their hopes for the championship alive.
