WTC Points Table: India stays at 3rd spot after record win in Mumbai Test, Sri Lanka firm at top spot

Mayank Agarwal’s heroics with the bat and Jayant Yadav’s four-wicket haul in the second innings helped India defeat New Zealand by 372 runs in the second Test of the two-match series here at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday.

With this win, India sealed the two-match series 1-0 and now Virat Kohli’s side will head to South Africa for three Tests and three ODIs, beginning December 26.

India couldn’t improve its WTC ranking despite having more points is because they have a lower percent percentage of points (PCT) than Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Sri Lanka have 100 PCT with two wins in two games played so far while Pakistan have 66.66 PCT on the back of 2 wins and 1 draw in three Test matches played so far.

Earlier, Sri Lanka consolidated the top spot in the World Test Championship Points Table with an emphatic 164 runs win in the 2nd and final Test against West Indies at Galle on Friday.
