Team India are leaving no stone unturned as they prepare for a crucial Border Gavaskar Trophy starting next week. A lot is at stake with India needing to win the series comfortably to seal a spot in the World Test Championship Final. The World No.1 rank is also on the line as Rohit and Co eye for a dominant performance.
After a month of white-ball cricket, Team India return to the longest format of the game. The BCCI arranged a special 5-day camp, starting today in Nagpur. The likes of KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara all had a long bat out in the nets. Rohit and Shubman Gill also batted together, hinting at the potential opening combination.

If training is anything to go by, KL Rahul could very well bat in the middle order during the IND vs AUS 1st test. Shreyas Iyer is ruled out as he continues to recuperate at the NCA. Ravindra Jadeja and KS Bharat also had a good net session, with a possible hint of Jadeja being promoted up the order.
While it is early to ascertain any combinations, it looks like Rohit and Rahul Dravid have their plans set for the opposition. India have four more days of training before the 1st test in Nagpur. There are two more sessions at the old VCA Ground in Nagpur. India will then move to the Stadium in Jamtha, where the series opener will be played.
