NetEase Games has officially revealed the details for Marvel Rivals Season 8.5: SINS OF ALCHEMAX, bringing one of Marvel’s most iconic heroes to the battlefield. Launching on June 12, 2026, the mid-season update introduces Cyclops, a brand-new large-scale game mode, a fresh map, and a packed lineup of seasonal events for players to enjoy.
Marvel Rivals Season 8.5: Cyclops Joins Marvel Rivals as a New Duelist
One of the major highlights of Marvel Rivals Season 8.5 would be the addition of the renowned character Cyclops from the X-Men team as a new Hero. Designed as a Duelist Class Hero, Cyclops excels at taking out enemies with high amounts of damage via his energy beams.
Cyclops can shoot energy beams directly at the enemy heroes or utilize bouncing techniques to attack an enemy hiding behind any obstruction. Additionally, he uses movement mechanics, such as using the power of his energy beams for repositioning himself within combat situations.
The major aspect of his Ultimate Ability involves the removal of power inhibitors that give him immense energy, enabling him to perform an optic blast sweep of the entire battlefield to destroy all nearby targets with a single shot.

New 18v18 Bounty Annihilation Mode
Season 8.5 is significantly increasing the scale of battles with the introduction of Bounty Annihilation, a new 18v18 game mode.
K’un-Lun: Shenloong Arena Debuts
In order to accommodate this new way of playing, Marvel Rivals will incorporate an entirely new map named K’un-Lun: Shenloong Arena.
The map has been inspired from the mythological location, K’un-Lun. This map offers huge arenas and breakable environments which add to the options available for fighting within the arena.
The update is also introducing Hellfire Bay Beach, a new social space where players can relax, interact with friends, and capture screenshots outside of competitive matches.
Between June 12 and June 26, the Day Vault will open once again, allowing players to get their hands on some popular limited-time cosmetics from 2025.
Players should be aware that there will be some highly-coveted cosmetics available once again during this period.
