IEM Sydney 2023 Winner Prediction
I have based my IEM Sydney prediction on a combination of odds, world rankings and current form. I expect Team Vitality to top group A and ENCE to top group B. In other predictions, I believe that Faze Clan and Cloud 9 are likely to be the respective semi-finalists from groups A and B.
Team Vitality (3.75)
Team Vitality are favourites to win the tournament according to odds on BC Game. Team Vitality’s main line up includes apEX, ZywOo, Magisk, Spinx and flameZ. The team is currently ranked number one in the HLTV world ranking.
Ironically, Vitality won their first major CS:GO competition as late as May 2023 when they won the Blast Paris Major. They followed that up with the RLCS Spring Major in July.
In August 2023, Team Vitality won the Rocket League World Championship in the RLCS finals held in Düsseldorf, Germany. They beat Team BDS 4-0 in the grand final. In the bargain they became world champions a second time.
Vitality’s crowning glory came in the Gamers8 competition in Riyadh in August. They registered a huge victory to earn prize money amounting to $400,000. In the bargain, they got to their 10th win in CS:GO tournaments to go ahead of G2 who have nine.
In sum, Team Vitality are the most in-form team.
ENCE (9.0)
ENCE are currently ranked #2 in HLTV’s world rankings. The main lineup of ENCE’s main line up comprises Snappi, Maden, NertZ, SunPayus and dycha.
With seven wins in their last 10 games, ENCE are in hot form. In August 2023, ENCE reached the grand final of the IEM Cologne 2023 where they lost narrowly to G2 Sports.
We expect ENCE to top group B at IEM Sydney 2023.
Faze Clan (9.0)
Faze Clan’s current line up consists of Karrigan, rain, Twistzz, ropz, and broky. They have won 5 of their last 10 matches. Currently ranked number 7 by HLTV, Faze Clan enjoyed ESL’s number one ranking in April 2023.
