Guerrilla Games has officially announced the second closed playtest for Horizon Hunters Gathering. This highly anticipated multiplayer game event runs from May 22 to May 25. Players can join the hunt on both PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. Interested fans must register exclusively through the PlayStation Beta Program.
Horizon Hunters Gathering – Second Playtest
The upcoming playtest brings exciting new content based on community feedback. Players can choose from two brand new playable characters, called Hunters. Ensa is an Oseram smuggler with a fascinating mercenary background. Shadow is a covert Carja operative commanding a tamed Stalker machine. Returning characters Rem, Sun, and Axle have also received significant gameplay tweaks.
Fans will get to experience a brand new narrative campaign episode. Hunters must defend Ashwater Valley from a relentless horde of robotic machines. You can explore a dangerous new region known as Breakers’ Bounty. This lush area features thick jungles, ruined cities, and a harsh desert. Familiar locations like Devil’s Thirst and the Gathering social hub will return.

Skilled players are dared to battle a Thunderjaw and Ravager at once. Additionally, the cooperative Cauldron Descent mode features incredibly difficult new trial rooms. Solo players also receive great new features in this upcoming playtest. Helpful new Training Modules have been added for better gameplay onboarding. Solo players can now use helpful NPC allies during their missions. These AI companions provide crucial battle assists to balance the difficulty.
