Finally, after months of speculations and rumors, Rockstar Games has released information on the price and pre-order details of their long awaited title, the GTA 6. Although the release of the information has resolved one of the most important queries concerning the game, it has generated some disappointment concerning physical copies of the game.
GTA 6 Editions and Pricing Confirmed by Rockstar Games
People had been speculating about the possibility of GTA 6 becoming the first major AAA game released with a starting price tag of $100. Luckily for the gaming community, Rockstar has decided to take the more conservative approach. There are two versions of the game available:
- Standard Edition: $79.99
- Ultimate Edition: $99.99
In the Ultimate Edition, players get a collection of various digital extras that will help them improve their experience in Vice City. These include things like the classic ’95 Grotti Cheetah, themed outfits, special sidearms for the game’s heroes Jason and Lucia, and unique raids on gang compounds.
Rockstar also confirmed that pre-orders will officially open on June 25, 2026.
Players who purchase the Standard Edition before launch will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack, a collection of bonus cosmetic content inspired by the franchise’s classic era.
Meanwhile, digital pre-loading will begin on November 12, 2026, allowing players to download the game ahead of its official launch on November 19, 2026.

Why Fans Are Upset
While many of the fans felt that the Standard Edition stayed below the feared price tag of $100, there has been another development that caught fans attention.
As per updates on the official website of Rockstar Games, physical copies of GTA 6 will not come with an actual disc that is functional. In its place, the games will only have a code for downloading the game.
As per the discussion on Reddit’s pages, for collectors and physical media enthusiasts, this decision has been particularly disappointing.
Notably, Rockstar has chosen not to offer any form of early access, meaning all players will gain access to the game on the same day regardless of which edition they purchase.
