The highest class of international racing is eager to push its best brains to come up with a carbon-neutral alternative. The drop-in fuel will be made available to the public, with the aim of reducing pollution in the upcoming seasons. However, this race isn’t less than any risk. With an expensive challenge on the ground, the teams could possibly end up in a battle to create the most remarkable solution and Pat Symonds isn’t ignorant about this.

“We’ve thought about it quite a lot, actually,” said Symonds, talking about the dangers of the quest. The F1’s chief technical officer is in the favour of implementing regulations to discourage fuel providers from attempting anything too audacious.

He even emphasised on how Aramco was involved in the discussion about the formulation of these fuels. “There are nuances to that,” he said. “And there’s more to a good fuel than just what its energy content is. There are all sorts of things: it is volatility, it’s the flame speed. There are all sorts of things that define a good fuel”

At the same time, being baffled by the technology, Symonds also hinted towards the extraordinary achievement when alternative fuel will be available to the common public, leading to a clean atmosphere and better world.

He ensured that the regulations weren’t restrictive to limit the innovation and give enough space for teams to experiment and create.

A lot of effort has been put while designing the regulations and promoting different methods to produce these fuels. F1 teams can be really aggressive to prove their performance and secure the edge over others.  It will be quite enthralling to see how F1 ensures sustainability with the best quality and safety at the same time.
