Rei Tachikawa is a Japanese football player in the Indian Super League. He plays for Jamshedpur FC, who sits 6th in the Indian Super League table. Rai is a 25-year-old central midfield player.
Tachikawa started his senior career in 2018 at Perafita. In 2019 he moved to Portuguese side Futebol Clube de Felgueiras 1932. He had a short stint at Felgueiras 1932 before moving to Santa Lucia.
Rei has played most for Santa Lucia than any other club in his career. He was at the club from 2019-2021. He scored eight goals in 32 appearances for Santa Lucia.
In 2021, the young footballer decided it was time for another change. He moved to Sirens FC, who compete in the Maltese Premier League. After being at the club for two years, he finally moved to Jamshedpur FC in the Indian Super League.
Rei Tachikawa has already started to impress at Jamshedpur FC
Tachikawa’s career in India has only just begun, but he has already started making an impact. Even though Tachikawa is a central midfielder, he has been playing up top for Jamshedpur FC. After coming in as a substitute in his first two games, Tachikawa was finally given a complete start in Jamshedpur FC’s 3rd game.
Jamshedpur FC played Hyderabad FC in their 3rd game in the 2023-24 ISL season. The scores were level at 0-0 till late in the game before Rei showed everyone why he was allowed to start. A freekick given the way of Jamshedpur FC gave Rei the chance to provide them with a lead, and he took the opportunity with both hands. He fired the freekick into the top left corner, giving Jamshedpur FC a 1-0 lead in the 76’.
This goal proved to be the deciding goal as Jamshedpur FC went on to win the game 1-0. This gave the club their first win in the 2023-24 ISL season and propelled them to 6th in the table.
You will want to keep an eye on this young star as the season progresses. After his impressive performance against Hyderabad FC, Rei Tachikawa will likely maintain his spot in the starting XI.
