EWC 2025 announces 70 Million USD Prize Pool

EWC 2025 announces 70 Million USD Prize Pool featuring 24 titles. Esports World Cup 2025 will be taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Esports World Cup (EWC) is set to return to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 7 to August 24, 2025, boasting a record-breaking prize pool exceeding $70 million. This unprecedented sum solidifies the EWC’s position as the pinnacle of esports competition and a driving force for the industry’s sustainable growth. The 2025 prize pool marks a $10 million increase from the inaugural event, underscoring the Esports World Cup Foundation’s (EWCF) commitment to creating significant opportunities for players and esports organizations.

EWC 2025 Features 24 Games

Ralf Reichert, CEO of EWCF, emphasized that this substantial investment is aligned with a long-term vision to elevate the entire esports ecosystem, providing stability for players, clubs, and publishers alike. EWC 2025 will feature 25 tournaments across 24 games, including new additions like Chess, Crossfire, FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves, and VALORANT. The event is expected to host over 2,000 elite players from 200 top clubs, making it the largest multi-game competition in esports history. Tickets are now available for purchase.

A significant portion of the prize pool, $27 million, will be awarded through the EWC Club Championship, a unique cross-game format that rewards the top 16 clubs based on their overall performance, with $7 million going to the champion. The remaining prize money will be distributed across individual Game Championships (totaling over $38 million), MVP Awards ($450,000), and the Road to EWC qualifiers (over $5 million).

The inaugural EWC in 2024 attracted a massive online viewership of over 500 million and 2.6 million visitors in Riyadh. Team Falcons emerged as the Club Champion, securing $7 million. Team Liquid and Team BDS finished in second and third place, respectively.

The EWCF is also expanding its support for the broader esports industry through partnerships with major publishers like Riot Games, Activision, and Capcom, providing resources to enhance the stability of various esports circuits. Furthermore, 40 leading esports clubs have joined the EWCF Club Partner Program, receiving financial support to grow their brands and global fanbases.

Adding to the event’s significance, the New Global Sport Conference will return to Riyadh on August 23-24, 2025, bringing together industry leaders to discuss the future of esports, gaming, sports, entertainment, and technology.
