The excitement for the T20 World Cup 2024 is building as three more Indian cricketers have departed for New York! Yuzvendra Chahal, a key member of the main squad, along with young talent Yashasvi Jaiswal, and reserve player Avesh Khan, set off from Mumbai today.
Notably, all three aforementioned players represent Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. The RR captain Sanju Samson who is currently in Dubai will join the India squad in NY inside few days.
First batch already in New York
These departures follow the arrival of the first contingent of Indian players in New York on Sunday.
Captain Rohit Sharma, along with star players like Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, and others, have already begun acclimatizing to the US conditions.

Yuzvendra Chahal’s experience and Yashasvi Jaiswal‘s raw talent add depth to India’s main squad. Both players will be eager to prove their mettle on the big stage.
Avesh Khan joins as Reserve Player
Avesh Khan, named as a traveling reserve alongside Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh and Khaleel Ahmed, will first travel to Dubai before reaching New York. While not in the starting lineup yet, Khan can provide valuable support if needed.

India is placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, Ireland, and co-hosts USA. Their campaign kicks off with a match against Ireland on June 5th, followed by a much-anticipated clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on June 9th.
Before the main event starts, India will play a crucial warm-up match against Bangladesh on June 1st.
