Virat Kohli has been out of public reach for the last three months. One of the fans spotted the former India and RCB skipper in a London cafe last month. He is still in the UK with his wife Anushka Sharma, newborn son and daughter Vamika.

In fact, Kohli has also been missing from Star Sports or JioCinema’s IPL 2024 promo even as he completes 16 years with RCB on Monday.
However, with IPL 2024 only path to ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Virat Kohli will have to play IPL to be eligible for selection in the mega ICC event.
“As far as we know, he will play IPL. But when is Virat joining squad is up to him and his franchise. We haven’t heard from him as he is on a break. For sure, IPL will play a massive role in selection of all players,” a senior BCCI official told InsideSport.

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar gave fire to the fuel, questioning his availability in IPL 17.
“Kya woh khelenge… kuchh reason ke liye khel nahin rahe hain, shaayad ho sakta hai ke IPL ke liye bhi na khele (Will he play… He is not playing because of some reason, perhaps he may not play in IPL as well,” Sunil Gavaskar said on SportsTak when he was asked whether Kohli will play in IPL 2024.
