‘Not too many IPL teams..’: Sanjay Manjrekar lays bare reason why Rajasthan Royals will be a tough team to beat in IPL 2024

Manjerakar feels RR's 'quality' bowling line up consisting of six top-class bowlers will make it hard for other teams to bulldoze RR.

Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar on Tuesday said Rajasthan Royals’ bowling unit will make the franchise a tough team to beat in IPL 2024. RR have had an excellent start to their IPL 2024 campaign. The Sanju Samson led team has crushed their opponents to take home three wins out of the three so far in the tournament.

Rajasthan Royals started their campaign with a victory against Lucknow Super Giants. They then followed it up with a win over Delhi Capitals before beating Mumbai Indians convincingly on Monday. RR batter Riyan Parag has been in fine form this season, slamming yet another half-century against MI on Monday. He is the present holder of the Orange Cap this season.

However, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has claimed it is RR’s bowling unit that will make the team unstoppable in IPL 2024. Manjrekar has claimed there aren’t many IPL teams that can boast of six quality bowlers as Rajasthan Royals.

Manjrekar too to X (previously Twitter) and wrote, “Not too many IPL teams have 6 bowlers who are all ‘quality’. Boult, Burger, Avesh, Sandeep, Ash & Chahal. That will make RR a tough team to beat this season.”

Now it remains to be seen if RR can really go and do wonders this season.
