None of India players ‘will say they are tired’ because of IPL in T20 WC, Akram’s cheeky remark makes sense

Speaking about the state of affairs, Akram offered an intriguing perspective, stating that since they were eliminated prior to the final, none of the Indian players will now claim to be fatigued.

Wasim Akram, a legendary fast bowler from Pakistan, made a playful joke about India’s T20 World Cup players not being present in the Indian Premier League 2024 final game. Remarkably, just Rinku Singh of KKR, who is in the reserves, played in the tournament final; none of the 15 players who made up India’s T20 World Cup squad made an appearance.

Speaking about the state of affairs, Akram offered an intriguing perspective, stating that since they were eliminated prior to the final, none of the players will now claim to be fatigued. The former cricket player for Pakistan went on to say that the Indian team might actually benefit from it.

Well, now atleast none of them will have to say that they are tired. They were thinking ahead, what is the point of reaching the final, India is more important, we will play with the country. But it could be a blessing in disguise for India,” said Akram on Sportskeeda.

Speaking further in advance, Akram claimed that the players would be worn out following a demanding IPL season. But given the level of fitness required by modern cricket, they’ll bounce back fast.

We discussed in the previous show that I was worried that they might be tired, and they will be tired, no doubt. Even America is not their route. I think Pakistan’s first match is Dallas if I remember. Now they will go and play there, one or two practice matches. It will be okay, I suppose. It is T20, the boys will recover, nowadays fitness levels are very high,” he further added.
