India register their 2nd lowest T20I total as England claim 125-run victory

IND vs ENG, 3rd T20I: England were all over India, like a rash, at Trent Bridge. For the first time in T20I cricket, the Men in Blue have lost 5 wickets in the powerplay. Chasing 202, India started well but kept on losing wickets from the second over onwards. They were all out of batters by the end of the 9th over. No batter in the top seven even managed to cross the 15-run mark.

In the end, India were all out for 76 runs, with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi being the highest scorer at 13. It was India’s second-lowest total in T20Is as England hammered the visitors and won by 125 runs to go 2-0 up in the series. Josh Tongue was the standout performer, 4 for 28. But Jofra Archer was equally brilliant, 3 for 29.

Earlier, Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Indian team made only one change to their XI, with Prince Yadav coming in for Ravi Bishnoi. Despite early attacking from Jos Buttler, England were 49/1 in 6 overs. From there on, Phil Salt went on to score 70, and Sam Curran scored 41, which took England to 201.
